Let the word of God Dwell Richly in You in 2015

What are the benefits of treasuring the word of God and then letting it dwell richly in us? I will suggest eight reasons:

  1. The word of God has the power to enlighten us from inside out. It lights away the darkness in our hearts.
  2. The word of God nourishes our soul. It was Jesus who said man shall not live on bread alone but by every word that comes from his father.
  3. The word of God quenches our thirst because as we absorbed it, it becomes in us a spring of living water. The Prophet Isaiah said it this way in 55:10-11 “For just as rain and snow fall from heaven and do not return there without saturating the earth and making it germinate and sprout, and providing seed to sow and food to eat, 11 so My word that comes from My mouth will not return to Me empty, but it will accomplish what I please and will prosper in what I send it to do.”
  4. The word of God strengthens us. It is the joy of spending time in the word that becomes our strength, NEH. 8:10b.
  5. The word of God washes us for it cleanses and purifies us from all defilement.
  6. The word of God builds us up. It is the word of his grace that has power to build us up into one body matured and serving him.
  7. The word of God completes and perfects us. Paul told Timothy the word of God is profitable for teaching, for convicting, for correcting, for instructing in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, fully equipped for every good work.
  8. And finally, the word of God edifies us by providing us what we lack like kindness, patience, wisdom, humility, love, forgiveness, etc.

It is my prayer for you this 2015 that you will rediscover your love for the Word of God and allow it to saturate your life and guide you unto righteousness for his infinite glory.
